Girdling Root

Girdling root is a condition where a trees roots grow in a circular pattern around the base of the trunk, rather than spreading outward. This can constrict the flow of water and nutrients, eventually leading to the trees decline or death. Girdling roots are often caused by improper planting techniques or container-bound trees, and corrective measures include carefully removing or cutting the roots to restore healthy growth.
